Samsonite Man.
In the past past month, I’ve been from Washington DC to Toronto to DC to Istanbul to DC to San Francisco and back to DC. In a few hours, I’m heading back to the airport to head out to Sydney.
Needless to say, I’m ready to stay in one place (here, please?) for a little while. Hoping to get some rest and lay down roots when I’m back in November.

All caps, honestly.
I received an email from a friend the other day, and while the entire message was pleasant and cheerful and made me smile, there was one bit that had such an impact on me that I feel compelled to share it here, unedited:
I THINK THAT YOU WOULD MAKE THE BEST TEACHER ON EARTH. HONESTLY. HONESTLY. HONESTLY. DO IT. I THINK THIS WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE IF YOU HELPED TO SHAPE THE MINDS OF OUR...

Three things...
…to smile about this morning:
New Crane & Co stationery.
Julia’s coming to visit!
Sleeping in my own bed for the first time in weeks.
My oh my, it’s cold out. I think I may go get some cheese grits and hot tea from Founding Farmers this morning.
Accident
You all get out of your cars. You are alone in yours, and there are three teenagers in theirs, an older Camaro in new condition. The accident was your fault, and you walk over to tell them this.
Walking over to their car, which you have ruined, it occurs to you that if the three teenagers are angry teenagers, this encounter could be very unpleasant. You pulled into an intersection, obstructing...

Three things...
…to smile about this morning:
Being back in the same time zone.
Getting a Google Wave invite.
Making big and difficult decisions.
The air is biting this morning, cold, fragrant. I think autumn has finally heard my cries.
