Aaaw. Saw this adorable post on Dear Old Love today: Stuffed. Last night I found the perfect combination of pillows and teddybears to feel like you were sleeping right next to me. A lot of the posts on DOL are spiteful or mean or humorous or sad, but there are a few, like this one, that make my heart flutter.

Things that are very difficult to do...
…but that I still do anyways. Wake up before six in the morning every weekday, before seven on weekends. Pretend that I’m not in excruciating pain every single time I bend my knee. Read 600 blogs, listen to 21 podcasts, and end every day at inbox 0. Refrain from talking to someone when all I want to do is ask them about their day. Go to the gym at least four times and week and...

Just heard news that the Academy will be nominating ten films for Best Picture this year. Here is a preliminary list of the films that I have seen 2009 that I think should get nominated in the top ten spots. Up Up Departures Up Up Coraline Up Up Goodbye Solo Up Up Yeah, that’s eleven. Yeah, eight of them are Up. It’s that good.

"Most essential foreign films" I have seen.
More lists tonight! I made (one, two, three) four lists last night, and I’m in a list-making mood again. So more lists. This is a list of the films I have seen from Paste’s list of this decade’s 25 most essential foreign films. Maria Full of Grace (Colombia, 2004) Persepolis (France, 2007) Volver (Spain, 2006) Let the Right One In (Sweden, 2008) Oldboy (South Korea,...

Things I hope I see as soon as I wake up tomorrow...
Fourth and final list of the night. I need to sleep because I need to be up in just over two hours. The sun pouring through my window. My mini-cactus on my windowsill. My glasses. My Winnie-the-Pooh stuffed toy. Your smiling face.

Eleven things I love about summer.
Inspired by Katie’s list, here’s mine, off the top of my head: Ice cream cones from ice cream trucks. Messy picnics in public parks. Dipping toes into the water at the beach. Fireflies. And chasing them. Madras plaid short-sleeved shirts. Rainbows glistening in the sun after a massive downpour. Sipping iced citron oolong on the balcony. Lying in the grass holding hands. ...

No more stories to tell? →
It’s a little sad that someone that runs a site called “I Tell Stories” can run out of stories to tell, but hey, it happens. In the meantime, if you’re looking to tell a few stories and get a few people to read them, I’m opening up my home online for your voices.
