In the past, I’ve been quick to criticize Facebook for the many mistakes it was making as it grew more popular, but these days, it looks like Mark and his team are making strides to make things better. While the still haven’t introduced the ability to export contact details to Address Book, they have given users the ability to export their events to iCal, something I’ve been clamoring for for months.
As Facebook slowly opens up and makes us geeks happy, it is also effectively dealing with privacy issues: Webware reports that the popular social networking app is soon going to allow “organize that long list of friends into groups so you can decide more specifically who sees what.” If Facebook does introduce this functionality in the next few weeks, I will personally apologize for all the grief I’ve given the developers in the past.
Oh, and with Facebook becoming even better these days, it might start taking up even more of your time — if that was at all possible. wikiHow’s got a great little roundup of how to assess if you need a Facebook break, and how to delete your Facebook account permanently.
