By now, you all know that Chris Henry, wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, passed away yesterday.
Many people will remember Chris as a football player who was always in trouble, whether that was with substance abuse, or with authority, or with violence. Many will remember Chris as a talented — gifted, some say — wide receiver with unparalleled athletic ability. Many will remember Chris as someone who had recently turned his life around, was cleaning up his act, and was becoming a better person and football player throughout the past 18 months.
There are three people, however, who will remember Chris Henry as so much more: Seini, Chris Jr. and DeMarcus will remember him as a father, who loved and cared for them, above all else.
Today, we all mourn the loss of a great football talent, but let’s not forget that, to some, Chris was more than just an athlete.
