An extremely powerful spoken word piece (via) by Carvens Lissaint about Haiti, written (from what I understand) before the earthquake, but edited and posted shortly after.

As a spoken word poetry performer and ardent fan, I strongly believe that these kinds of expression are important tools for awareness and social change, and I will continue to encourage and support the art form because I believe in its transformative power.
