I’m back in Toronto. This is a good thing for many reasons, but I’ve got a little while to go before I’m fully settled here and ready to start getting out and being a Torontonian again. Among the first few things I need to do:
- Find my VPN access token so I can access my work email and start getting an income again.
- Find a place to live so I’m not stuck trying to work and sleep in a tiny room in my parents’ apartment. I love them lots, but I need my space, and I need it soon.
- Find a stable internet connection so I can work, blog, and generally be connected without having to trek down to the local Second Cup and pay for a few hours of access.
- Get a phone plan with a Canadian number so I don’t have to pay AT&T’s ridiculous roaming rates.
- Unpack, do my laundry and stop feeling as though I’m living out of boxes.
- Find a gelato place that’s as good as Boccato, because to be honest, on sunny days like this, I crave a scoop of carambola on top of a scoop of pineapple basil. So good.
- Make contact with everyone in this city I haven’t seen in so long, and somehow make plans to catch up and spend some quality time with all of them.
Lots to do. If you have any leads on apartments (preferably near good gelato places) in downtown Toronto, please please please let me know.
Whee! I’m excited to be home.
